OUR FOOD PHILOSOPHY

We are inspired by our natural surroundings at Cederberg Ridge - the smells, textures and tastes that the Cederberg has to offer. 
From farm to table, or rather 'Berg to plate', we make use of locally farmed fresh produce, as well as local flavours and cooking techniques.

We're also all about homemade goodness! From freshly baked breads, croissants and danish pastries, to sausages, macaroons and gelato, our chef will create homemade, fresh food on a daily basis.

Guests visiting Cederberg Ridge can expect a seasonal menu according to available produce.

BREAKFAST

Our breakfasts are hearty, fresh and delicious... fit for a King if you will! 

Continental Breakfast
Homemade croissants, pastries, jams and preserved fruits, freshly squeezed juices, fruit consol jars and cold meats and cheeses

Sourdough, farm style white, whole wheat or croissant with a variety of tasty toppings

Choose from smoked salmon breakfast bowls with soft poached eggs to Japanese soufflé pancakes or an omelette of your choice

A variety of freshly prepared, mouthwatering salads, as well as mezze platters and other lighter meals will be available daily

For a substantial lunch, choices include a range of perfectly prepared meats (sirloin, baby chicken, eland fillet and lamb cutlets) with vegetable and salad accompaniments, as well as homemade pastas

Deliciously fresh foods will be part of every packed picnic breakfast or lunch

Try local delicacies like Skilpadjies cooked in a spicy tomato sauce, or homemade Teriyaki pork pot stickers, wild mushroom arancini or confit chicken wings 

Mains
Perfectly cooked eland wellington, beef fillet or braised pork neck are on offer, as well as ricotta, pine nut and spinach cannelloni, or sous vide chicken breast

Dessert
Delicious pecan pie spiced pumpkin gelato, churros con chocola with dark chocolate, orange and chilli ganache, or dark chocolate and cherry soufflé

Other treats

Delectable homemade macaroons, rooibos fudge and strawberry shortbread await every guest on arrival. 

Our chef also prepares bar snacks like lamb curry empanadas and smoked ham croquets daily.  

Those who have a sweet tooth can choose from a selection of homemade ice creams served at the bar from 1pm.
