  • General Policies & Info

DBB (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)
– Breakfast & Dinner, accommodation. Use of mountain bikes (NOT E-Bikes), self-guided walking and mountain bike trails and complimentary WiFi.

FBA (Full Board & Activities) - All meals, accommodation, complimentary star-gazing, two scheduled excursions per day. (Seasonal activities vary but include Rock Art excursions, guided Rooibos Farm tours, Full day Excursions into the Cederberg, Farm Tours, Boating excursions in summer, Guided Walks in Cederberg Wilderness Reserve, Guided Mountain Biking, Sundowner Walks). Also use of mountain bikes (excluding E-bikes), walking and mountain bike trails on the farm, complimentary WiFi.

Booking Policy

• All reservations require a 10% deposit upon confirmation of the booking, to be paid within 7 days.
• Final payment is due 15 days prior to your arrival (Flexible Covid-19 Policy – see below).
• Cederberg Ridge reserves the right to cancel the booking if deposit or final payment is not received at the appropriate time. For last minute reservations, full payment is required upon confirmation.
• All requests, confirmations and cancellations are only valid if in writing. Please ensure you receive acknowledgment of cancellation from our Reservations Department.
• Provisional bookings will only be held for 7 days; or 48 hours within 7 days of arrival, or if Reservations specifies 48 hours due to high demand. Thereafter the booking will automatically be released. 
• We reserve the right to amend/change rates on this website without prior notice. Or to request 2 nights' minimum stay during our Festive or other Peak periods.
• We strongly recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights throughout the year.
• No pets allowed.
• All suites are non-smoking.
• We accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards. Alternatively, you can settle via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Unfortunately, we don’t accept American Express or Diner’s Club.

Flexible Covid-19 Cancellation Policy - valid until 20 December 2022* 

We understand that these are very uncertain times. So we have put flexibility at the heart of everything we do. We want you to feel comfortable booking with Simbavati, knowing that your money is safe if Covid-19 circumstances change

Free cancellation up to 15 days before arrival. 

• Final payment is currently due only 15 days prior to arrival.
• Up to 15 days prior to arrival: no cancellation fees (Any deposit is refundable, minus bank charges.)
• 15 days prior to arrival: 90% cancellation fee*
• Please note that 100% cancellation fee will be charged if you decide to depart early while staying with us.

* Last Minute changes (within 15 days) due to Covid-19

We are aware that occasionally, last-minute changes may be needed due to Covid-19, such a suddenly-imposed ‘travel decree’, a personal covid-19 diagnosis. Please outline the specific circumstances to us. Please note: In the case of an SA travel ban, an official ban in country of residence, or personal Covid-19 diagnosis, we will offer 100% refund or postponement.

In the case of other personal Covid 19 issues, please outline the specific circumstances to us. We are happy to hold your payment as a credit towards future travel.

* We reserve the right to amend the Covid-19 cancellation policy earlier if WHO declares the pandemic is over. However we will honour the cancellation terms that you booked under for any existing bookings. 

Check-in - Check-in is from 14:30.
You are welcome to arrive at Cederberg Ridge earlier, and make use of our swimming pool or garden.

Check-out – 10:30 on the day of departure.
We try to accommodate early arrivals or late check-outs, subject to room availability. Unfortunately this cannot be guaranteed.
If we are unable to accommodate a late check-out, we will happily store your luggage whilst you enjoy the facilities at the lodge.

Lunch - The Full Board & Activity price includes lunch (served from 13:00 to 14:30 either on  the day of arrival or on departure.
If you wish to have lunch on both arrival and departure days, there's an extra charge for the second lunch.

Wi-Fi – we have decided to offer complimentary WiFi in the bedroom and library/reception area ONLY.

Smoking – no smoking is allowed inside any lodge or chalet buildings.

Pets - no pets allowed.

Minimum Stay - We strongly recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights throughout the year.

Pre-booked Activities (DBB guests and Spa Treatments) – if you book an activity or spa treatment and cancel within 24 hours, it is subject to a cancellation fee.

Insurance - We strongly recommend that all guests take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering at least injury, death, personal accident, medical and emergency evacuation expenses, loss of or damage to personal belongings (due to theft or otherwise), cancellation and curtailment.

Transfers - We can arrange transfers from Cape Town or the Winelands at an additional cost. Please book with Reservations. All transfers are handled by an accredited transfer company. 

Activities for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Guests - Guests booked on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (DBB) basis may be able to book our excursions (at an extra cost) subject to availability of vehicles/guides/boats etc. These bookings are done at the lodge once our Full Board & Activity clients' activities have been arranged. However we have a seasonal programme of excursions so we cannot book tours outside of this programme.
