MOUNTAIN-BIKING

Cederberg Horse Riding
Most people prefer to enjoy a mountain bike ride independently. (Though you can ask for a guide...) We have some mountain bikes at the lodge for you to borrow. Or you can bring your own.

Our mountain bike trails Range from an easy track (less than an hour) to something more challenging for the more experienced.

As with walking, we provide maps and signs on the trails to guide you.

Valley Trail (V) – easy, perfect for non-mountain bikers, go as far as you like and then turn around

Valley & Plateau Walk (P) – circular trail of approx 1+ hour. At the end you can choose to do the adrenalin rush descent, (if you’re experienced), or the more leisurely road descent before riding back through our adjacent farm. However at the moment, we recommend taking the road all the way around to the lodge gates and cycling up the drive.

Guided Mountain Bike Trails

We also have a couple of longer, more technical routes for more experienced mountain riders. These are only done on a guided basis.
Discuss your needs with the Lodge directly.

Note: Due to some recent flash floods, some of the trails are very rocky. This will be fixed after the Grape harvest. But in the meantime, please ask about the various trail conditions before setting off.
E-Bikes
We have two E-Bikes which are available to rent on a per hour basis. We have a Large (for 180cm and up) and a Medium Frame (for 168cm height upwards.) The battery should last between 2-3 hours of cycling depending on the power gauge you use.

Note: If you would like a Small E-bike (under 168cm in height, please give us some advance notice and we can get one in for you.)
