Stadsaal rock art on Cederberg excursion from Cederberg Ridge Wilderness Lodge
Explore the area on one of our scheduled Cederberg excursions. We offer two fairly full day excursions from Cederberg Ridge. These vary by season and take place once every 3 days or so.

Explore the High Cederberg

Enjoy a full day of touring the stunning Cederberg mountains. Starting with a scenic mountain pass drive, we admire ancient rock art and the Stadsaal rock formations. We stop for a picnic lunch on the river bank, perhaps take a dip in the natural rock pools in summer. Or we may stop at the scenic Kromriver restaurant for lunch in winter. Afterwards we taste some delicious award-winning Cederberg Wines at their cellars before meandering homeward.

West Coast & Muisbosskerm open-air restaurant

Our other full day excursion heads to the West Coast for a delicious seafood lunch on the beach at Muisbosskerm. En route we, visit a Rooibos tea farm and the unique Bird Island with its vast array of gannets and cormorants. Generally we offer this excursion in the spring and summer months when it's enjoyable to head to the cooling sea breezes.

Please note: Our guided excursions follow a set programme (approximately once every three days) and so we cannot guarantee any particular excursion during your stay.

However you can also visit these areas on a self-drive basis if you prefer. See our pages on Stadsaal and Cederberg Cellars and Muisbosskerm for more info
